Project Summary

 The School Diary system is an approach to improve the current system. It provides an effective parent–teacher communication.This system provides an instant communication with teacher .Basic functionality of our application are: Announcement of event and circular, exam schedule, attendance report, assignment sharing, Timetable, Leave application, Parent note to Teacher, Teacher note to Parent, List of Holidays, Faculty Detail, Result and performance of Student. Thus "School Diary" is a mobile application which provides efficient and cost effective solution for parents regarding their child.

Purpose: Goals & Objectives

Goals

The primary goal of “Always with You” application to prepare a mobile application that provides safety and help to the women in case of trouble. It allows women to send alert message along with current location to their relatives in case of trouble. The secondary goal of the system is to provide all necessary helpline numbers like police station, hospitals, fire stations at one click so that women can call on helpline numbers in case of any emergency.

Objectives

The objective of our application is to provide mobile friendly which enables effective Parent Teacher Communication.The primary goal of our application is to provide effective and smart system to the schools using which parents, students and teacher can communication with each other.

Scope

The system "School Diary" can be used by any school who wants to make the communication between parent and teacher effective. Using this system parent take care of his child’s study. Parent can also get the regular details of the school. Due to the use of "School Diary" they can make their child’s performance at a good level. Using MAC teacher can also send complains of the student to the respective parent at that time, so it leads to the improvements of that student. By considering all these factors one can make a school to a smart school.

STUDY OF CURRENT SYSTEM

In order to understand the requirements of system we visited five schools. All the schools using School Diary for communication between parent and teacher. Each student is assigned a hard copy of School Dairy. School related information like Circulars, Event Notification, Attendance record, Unit test, Results are written by teachers manually in the hard copy of the school dairy. Some parents does not check the school dairy regularly so the effective communication does not performed between parent and teacher. Sometimes it may happen that the parents are not aware about the performance of their child. Parents are also not aware about the regular activities of the school. Sometimes it may happen that the teacher forget to give the remark then the parents rarely came to know about that performance until the parents teacher meeting, till that there are no chances of improvement.

PROBLEM AND WEAKNESSES OF CURRENT SYSTEM

After study of current system we found following problems and weaknesses in the system. Following are the some of the problems and weaknesses of current system:
(1) Poor Parent Teacher communication.
(2) Manually work.
(3) Parents are not aware about regular details of their child.
(4) Don’t have study material.
(5) Wait for the Parent Teacher meeting to discuss with the teacher.

REQUIREMENTS OF NEW SYSTEM

To overcome the disadvantages of current study system we are going to propose an application name as "School Diary". Some of the Features that are included into our system are:
1. Announcement of events and circular.
2. Display holiday list.
3. Check faculty detail.
4. Only authenticate person can enter into the system.
5. Instant messaging.
6. Display result and performance of the student.
7. Check timetable, subject material.
8. Parent can send the feedback.
9. Fun with learning.
10. One can view the achievement of the school.

MAIN MODULES OF NEW SYSTEM

Basically there are four types of users who deal with the system. The users are listed below:
(1) Admin
(2) Faculty
(3) Parents
(4) Students
The characteristics of each users are explained below:
(1) Admin

Admin manages the faculty details.
Admin manages the new user login.
Admin manages the events with name,date and description.
Admin manages the time-table by standard and division wise.
Admin manage the circular with description.
Admin manage the photo-gallery.
Admin manage the holiday list with date.
Admin manage the achievements of the school with image.
Admin manage the standards.
Admin display the exam-schedule by standard wise.

Faculty can post student complain to their parents.

Faculty can upload the assignment and other study materials.
