Project Summary

Smart Society is a mobile application that is going to be developed for the effective communication between Society Members. As we all know that there are lots of mobile applications are launched every day. Smart Society is one of the mobile applications that is designed to provide facilities to the society members which can be utilized using smart phone. This application provides the facility of searching contact information of society members. Using this application one can easily find the contact information of various society members. The notification regarding any events or circulars related with society can be directly received on the smart phone. Announcement of committee meetings is also available on this application. If any society member is unable to attend the meeting he can view the minute of meeting on the mobile application. It also provides the facility of booking community hall directly from mobile application. Society members can check the availability of community hall on particular date and book the community hall.It provides the facility Vehicle Parking management. If any society members has parked their vehicle in no parking zone then an instant message can be send to them for appropriate parking. It provides the dictionary of various service providers located near to society such as electrician, plumber, doctors etc.. So society members can easily contact them in case of emergency. The most important facility provided in this application is security. If watchman found any improper activity he can send an alert message to all society members. Thus “Smart Society” is a mobile application which provides efficient communication between society members , society management and watchman.

Purpose: Goals & Objectives

Goals

The primary goal of “Smart Society” application to provide an effective mobile application to the members of society so that they can communicate with each other and get latest update of society events and circulars. The second goal of the application is to provide the facility of security in case of any trouble situation. Watchman can send alert message to all society members in case of any trouble situations. The third goal of the application is to provide the information about the society members as well as service providers so that they can easily keep in touch with each other and contact them in case of any help. The fourth goal of the application is to provide the facility using which society members can utilize the facility of society.

Objectives

The objective of our system is to develop a novel, flexible and easily implementable mobile application for housing and commercial societies. The primary goal of this application is to simplify communication between society management and society members. It provides the facility of society member communications (notices, minutes of meetings, vehicle details, and society rule book), society vehicle management; connect with service providers, emergency help and maintenance.

(3) Development Tools: Adobe Dreamweaver, WAMP Server, Android Studio, JDK

(6) Design Tools: MS Visio

STUDY OF CURRENT SYSTEM

Currently there are several mobile applications available on the Play Store for Smart Society. We analyze various mobile applications and discover the functionality provided by that application. Currently the system is working manually. It means all the communication between society management and society members is done either verbally or through paper work. Some society display the circulars or event notification at the entrance of society on board or send paper to each house, it waste time as well as requires extra human efforts. In case of improper vehicle parking it is very difficult to identify the owner of vehicle and inform them. Society member has to contact committee member personally if they want to book community hall for any occasions. Society members have to contact committee member if they are having any complaint regarding the management or facility of society. There is no emergency help or alert notification facility available in current system.

PROBLEM AND WEAKNESSES OF CURRENT SYSTEM

After study of current system we found following problems and weaknesses in the system. Following are the some of the problems and weaknesses of current system:
(1) Current system provides limited functionality.
(2) Current system is not user friendly. It means it is very complicated to use the application.
(3) No effective communication between society management and society member.
(4) Requires extra human efforts.
(5) No security facility.
(6) No service providers and emergency help facility.

REQUIREMENTS OF NEW SYSTEM

In order to overcome the problems and weaknesses of current system we proposed to develop a new mobile application that provides each and every functionality required for the society member.Advantages of New System are given below:
(1) There is effective communication between society management and society member.
(2) Time saving.
(3) Requires no extra human efforts.
(4) Provides security facility.
(5) Provides service providers and emergency help facility.

Basically there are two types of users who deal with the system. The users are listed below:
